Just hopping by with a little Bunny Diorama I have finished. I think it is so cute, but it was very fiddly and my old eyes and fingers struggled. The end result is very pleasing to me though, so all worth it.
I’m sorry that this photo is very bright around the outside but that was the only way I could get the inside to be at least half-way decent.

I based this idea on a fish scalloped shaker card I saw recently on the WWW. Do you think I can find it now to acknowledge the talented artist? NO. I’ve spent an hour searching – anyone know the post I am looking for, it was blue/aqua with fish. I’ll get back to you when I find it.

The bunny scene is made in a little round tin with acetate lid. You will see the side of the tin below.

In this photo I’ve taken the lid off the tin so you have a better photo of the bunnies and surrounds.

I added a strong magnet to the back of the tin so that it can be put on the front of the refrigerator for the grandchildren to peep into.

Bye for now,
Lorraine
A dear friend just celebrated her birthday and this is the card I made for her. It is a Stampin Up stamp set and I just had to use it, ‘cos it is so cute. The sentiments are from various older sets from my stash, can’t remember brand names.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the chooks and egg. Zig markers were my colouring medium this time and loved how it was so easy and how it turned out.

Next I took a stylus and rubbed over the centre of the back of each chook to make them a bit dimensional. Then I attached some foam tape to the centres and glue to the edges to adhere them to the front panel.

Finally I made a matching envelope with a Kaisercraft wooden template.

I loved making this card, it was a happy little project. P.S. a big thank you to Pam (you know who you are 🙂 ).

Hello all. What do you do with the box when you buy a pair of shoes? Some shops will give you an alternative to the box, which is good, but for this pair of shoes they gave me the box and it was a nice study one. Just couldn’t put it in the recycling bin so came up with this.

I had purchased a class from NataliesStudio HERE (I thoroughly enjoyed it). One of the classes was a collaged stool. I thought the stool was spectacular but I wasn’t brave enough to tackle such a large project but a shoe box was possible. I painted the inside of the box with aqua acrylic paint and the bottom part of the outside with pink acrylic. To the top I added a variety of torn papers, tissue paper, images and old book pages. I used Mod Podge to adhere and glaze the pieces.

When the top was finally dry (I left it over night) I added some Kaisercraft rubons and a black sharpie to draw around the edge to give it a frame. After a while I decided that a white gel pen would add the final touch on the black pen.

It is in use already holding some of my precious crafting goodies. The final result makes me smile. Why not try some collage, I think you will find it great fun.

It seems a very long time since I made a card just for the fun of it but today finally, that is what I did. Woo hoo, loved it.
I’m entering a challenge over at Scrapbook Boutique HERE . This is the “mood board” which was the inspiration –

And here is my version –

I used watercolour paper for the focal panel because I wanted to use Distress Inks and ZIG markers. I masked of a rectangle in the lower half of the panel and blended 3 bluish distress inks – Peacock feathers, Tumbled glass and Salty ocean. I then placed a stencil over the panel and blended Broken china through the stencil. Next a few drops of water which were blotted up added to the watery look.

I stamped out the images from the Altenew set “Peony Scrolls” using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Nuvo embossing powder “Glitter Noir”. Very pretty and sparkly. I coloured the images with Zig pens. The flowers I used “Bright Yellow” and “Yellow” and a water pen, so easy compared to some other colouring methods. I did the same with the leaves using “Pale Green” and “Cobalt Blue”. Once they were die-cut I glued them to the panel leaving a flower and leaf which I then attached using foam tape. The leaves then had some clear “Wink of Stella” brushed on. The flowers were quite bright enough without more glitter 😆
Finally I matted the focal panel with blue and black card and then adhered it onto a white card base. I wish you could see how sparkly it is in real life. I took the card outside to try to catch the glitter but you really still can’t see it clearly.

Here is the inside of the card.
I enjoyed myself today and feel a crafting splurge coming on 🙂

I’m back today to show you a cute little Flip Album I made. A couple of other friends made them too so I’m hoping they will show us their versions as well.

I found the wonderful tutorial for this project HERE. I would recommend you check it out.
A close-up of the belt and sentiment.

The inside.

The Waterfall section.

Tags to add extra photos or to do some journaling.

We were all thrilled with the project and intend to make more. I’m hoping to make one for each of my grandchildren. I haven’t quite finished this, still have to add the child’s name to it.
That’s all for today,
See you soon.

A quick little post about my quick little craft project.

Found a SWEET site here showing smaller versions. I really wanted to make some but Australia doesn’t stock the Lindt Emojis. 😦 I am very lucky to have a great friend who went to the trouble of sourcing them for me while she was in USA. They are bigger than the example showed but that is no problem, just more chocolate to eat 🙂 I measured my emojis and changed the measurements accordingly.

I have a Bo Bunny Stamp Set of all sorts of emojis so of course they were the perfect accompaniment.
These already have lucky friends to go to.
Bye for now,

You all know about kids having “play dates” well over the last couple of days I’ve had “play dates” with some crafty friends and I’ve loved it. I felt a bit like a kid.
I forgot to take photos on the first day but today I remembered. Here are some of the things my friend made.
Going through my stash again and again trying to lose some of the goodies but I find it very difficult to part with a lot of my stowed (and never used) items. While going through I found some candles and napkins so decided to give melting the napkins onto candles. It worked beautifully after a few attempts. My friend today is a wonderful quilter so we made an “Ohio Star” quilt style card as well.
Here is another little bag I found in my stash and decided to invite my friend to decoupage a napkin to the front. Fun – well at least I had fun, hope my friends did too.

That’s all for now,
Lorraine
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to visit the Ballarat Art Gallery to see Archibald Prize Display.
For those who don’t know about this wonderful event here is an explanation by the Ballarat Art Gallery –
“The Archibald Prize, first awarded in 1921, is Australia’s favourite art award, and one of its most prestigious. Awarded to the best portrait painting, it’s a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to fashion designers, sporting heroes to artists.
Since 1921, the Archibald Prize has been thrilling art enthusiasts, often stirring up controversy and always challenging the way we see ourselves and our society. Over the years, the prize has been awarded to many of Australia’s most prominent artists including Nora Heysen, William Dobell, Brett Whiteley, Ben Quilty, Tim Storrier and Fiona Lowry.
The Art Gallery of Ballarat is proud to be the exclusive Victorian venue for the 2016 Archibald Prize, which is a touring exhibition of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.”
Here are a few of my favourites. Find out more about the portraits here.
Well I’ve finally finished packaging all the little goodies for Halloween. It is so much fun making the packets, adding spiders and deciding what should go with what.
When I was a child (yes I know that is quite a while ago now 🙂 ). We were lucky enough to have fun on Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night. We would save up for “crackers” and go to “Coles” (not the supermarket, but a general shop) to choose our favourites. Perhaps Jumping Jacks (although they never worked very well), flower pots, rockets, catherine wheels, volcanoes, penny bungers, tom thumbs, roman candles, mmmmm ….. can’t remember any other names.
Everyone in the neighbourhood would collect rubbish, tree cuttings, old wood for months before to build the biggest bonfire you could. Of course old clothing for the Guy. The whole neighbourhood enjoyed their get-together.
At the end of the night as the embers were dying down we would throw potatoes in the ash. Oh they were so much better cooked like that.
Next morning we would go and scavenge around the fire ash looking for crackers which had fallen out of bags or hadn’t gone off. More fun.
We did have a lot of fun until some kids got hurt and the government stepped in and banned Bonfire Night. Spoil sports. Still I suppose some pretty stupid acts did happen.
Halloween is quite different but it reminds me of the fun we had as kids so I try and have treats for the neighbourhood ghouls and bones. It’s a good way to meet some of your neighbours too.

Boo to you,
Lorraine
Hello all. Here is my latest take on an exploding box. (love these types of boxes).

I think they are a great little gift. I have made a very simple “just for you” tiny tag to add to the top, and there you go all done.

Adding a few “yummy” chocolates inside – perfect for most people 🙂 .

You can make them any size so that you can add whatever you like to the centre. Here is another example of an exploding box which I made some time ago – click HERE.
Have a great day,
Lorraine
Today I have for you some cards using the very cute MFT stamp set “Strike up the Band”.

I’m a big fan of circle cards. Don’t know what it is about them but they always catch my eye. Usually I cover the top fold and make it appear to be a full circle but this time I didn’t mind the flat top.

My fav is perhaps the yellow. Not usually a big user of yellow. What’s your fav?
Bye for now,

Had a lovely weekend with friends. We were very lucky that the weekend was dry, which is unusual after the wet weather we have been having. We headed off to Murtoa, which is north-west of home. The tiny town of Murtoa had a special weekend with Show & Shine, Market Stalls, art and music. The main attraction for us was the famous “Stick Shed”. Look here for information on this amazing old building. I found out about this building from a dear crafting friend. See you can learn so much from crafters.
On Saturday afternoon we went to Horsham for our overnight stay. Coming into Horsham we noticed that they had an Orchid Show on, so we went along. Very good, congratulations to Horsham on a wonderful display. Here are a few of my favourites.
We then went back to our hotel and watched the magnificent AFL Grand Final. So thrilled for Western Bulldogs. WOOF WOOF.
Today we drove to Brim (you don’t know where it is? Well neither did we, but we’re very glad we found it). These are truly amazing. The last picture below shows the 4 silos and at the bottom left you will see the tiny figures of 2 of our party. I thought that might help you to visualise the magnitude of the painting task. Amazing! Click here to read more about them.
We are home now and it has started to rain. Weren’t we lucky to have a dry 2 days?
Lorraine
Hello once again. As you can see I am still on the music theme. I’m loving it, makes me happy.

I spotted the beautiful card which inspired me on Pinterest and you can find it here.

I added acetate and fun foam to the back of the die cut piece to add some dimension so the sequin mix could move when it is shaken.

The back panel was blended using distress inks. The colours were Fossilized Amber, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles.
Thanks for dropping in today,
Lorraine
Hello. I’m still making cards following the theme of music. Here are the next two cards

The first card features a stamped image from La-la Land. I love colouring her. This time I decided to add some white dots to her dress and hair band using a white gel pen. The stars and also from a La-la Land die.

I wonder what she is about to sing? Jazz, swing, blues, what do you think? Perhaps something like – “The Way You Look Tonight” version by Michael Bublé.

This card is an image from Stamping Bella. Had fun colouring this in, but didn’t enjoy the fussy cutting so much. . Nice sentiment I thought.
Bye for now,
Lorraine
Hello again. I’m back with some more of Penny Black stamps “Jazzy Cats”. I think you will see a theme emerging over the next few days (in fact you might have guessed already).

Bye for now,
Lorraine
