Hello again. Today’s gift packet features the beautiful Magnolia Large Butterfly stamp – such a joy to colour (although all colouring is a joy for me). I have dropped it into the Imagination Factory if you would like a closer look.
I am entering this project in the Wee Memories : Challenge #47 – This week’s theme is all about March. The challenge with this theme is to create cards with a ‘spring’ theme or ‘green’ theme … green colors, green anything, flowers, birds, trees, butterflies, etc. Anything that says Spring or Green!
My project is a gift packet and if this doesn’t say “spring” I don’t know what will. I’ve also included lots of “green”. Even the eggs in the packet are wrapped in pink and green.

- Coloured with Copics

Bye for now,
Hello. As promised in yesterday’s post, I have another MAGIC themed card for you today. It is for the Copic Oz Challenge #8 – “A little Magic”. I’m not sure if unicorns are magical or mythical or whether that is the same thing but anyway he is cute. Here is the card –
My inspiration was from “Wicked Pixie Creations”. Very sadly she isn’t blogging at the moment. I hope she restarts because I love her style.
- Stamp – digi – ATS “Meadow”

Have a magical day,
Hi – back from the beach. Today’s card is one I was going to enter into a challenge but I have changed my mind and have another which I will link up tomorrow. I was debating about calling the dragon “Puff” because of the controversy about the meaning of the words of the song, but I thought if I get some funny links they will soon see it is only a card. Here is a link to Wikipedia’s explanation of the song – click here. 🙂
There hasn’t been any activity on my blog (sorry) because I haven’t been able to access the internet all weekend because of some glitch with my laptop. Every other time we have been at the beach I have been able to link up to the resort’s hot spot – but NOT this time and I really have no idea what is wrong. It keeps saying something about IP address unknown 😕 Anyhow here is Puff the Magic Dragon –
See you tomorrow with my next “magic themed” card.
I know there are a lot of very busy people out there and I’m thinking that a few of you can relate to the sentiment on this card 😡 I’m picturing a couple of you right now – you know who you are! In Victoria this weekend it is a “long weekend” for Labour Day holiday, so hopefully everyone will take a break and enjoy the extra day off – and get “a life” (sorry if you’re not having the extra day off 😦 ).
Now on to the card. It is for the Catch the Bug Challenge – “Anything goes Project”
This didn’t work out quite how I had pictured it. I wanted the springs to look like everything was just snapping “boing!##?” but no not quite.
- Digital stamps – Bugaboo Stamps (Crabby Cathy – Life)
- Coloured with Copics
- Paper – Cosmo Cricket (Garden Variety)
- Dimensional Magic – on Computer and Rubbish Bin (sorry can’t see that in the photo very well)
- Wire
- Tissue paper – overflowing from the bin
Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with another challenge card. Bye.
I have “high hopes” for today’s card. It is for the High Hopes Stamps: Challenge 104 “Go Green” (Use the color green, use something recycled, or celebrate St. Patrick’s Day). My choice was to use a nice bright leaf green and some milky green card stock and colour the bow and rattle to match. You know some cards just work and you don’t have to play around with them too much – well this was one of them. I think the cute little baby bear image makes it easy.
- Stamp – High Hopes (Peeking Baby Bear)
- Coloured with Copics
- Sentiment – PTI
- Paper – PTI
- Dies – Spellbindeers
- Edge Punch – EK
- Lace, button, Liquid Pearls
Well I’m off to baby-sit, so I had better get going.
Today’s easel card is for Whiff of Joy Challenge: #99 – Blooms & Buttons and was inspired by the flower which a friend showed us how to make yesterday (see bottom left of card base). Thanks. It was just perfect for the Whiff of Joy Challenge and who doesn’t love adding flowers and buttons to their card so it was a must do challenge. I used 11 flowers and 5 buttons – that should qualify for the challenge.
I am also going to enter it into the Stamps R Us Challenge “In the Kitchen“. She has been cooking so I think this qualifies.
Once again I have to apologize for the photos but it was very difficult to find a place bright enough to take a photo because it is drizzly rain on and off so far today. The colours of the card are very subtle (except for the red of course), a very very light grey/green, and that didn’t help the quality of the photo either.
We had a “good time” yesterday and I’m pretty sure we all learnt something we can use. Apart from the flower (which you will probably see quite often on my cards in the future 😀 ) we learnt a new style of card from the other friend which is great. I will probably use it in a new post in the next couple of days or so. Who knew “Cuticle Sticks” could be so useful for card making – well I do now. Thanks girls.
- Stamps – Whiff of Joy (Willow’s Hot Chicken Soup)
- Coloured with copics and paper pieced

- Paper – Kaiser Craft (After Five)

- Leaf punch – L-em.com

See you soon,
Good morning. I have a couple of “crafty friends” visiting today. Each of us are to show the others a technique, style or card. Here is my tiny easel card for today’s get-together (there was a bit of a hint that they might like to do an easel card). I wanted to make a quick and easy card and this certainly was. Just fold, stamp, a little water-colour pencil, lace, flowers and finished.
- Stamp – Crafty Individuals
- Coloured just the flowers with water brush and coloured pencils
- Sentiment – Hero Arts
- Paper – Kaiser
- Flowers & lace
I also have another technique to show them using toothpaste but more of that another day. I better get tidied up a bit before they arrive.
See you tomorrow,
Yes the card I have for you today is a Christmas card – no joking. The challenge from Tickled Pink Stamps is Christmas – Traditional Christmas Colours – Green, Red & Gold. The stamp isn’t specifically for Christmas, but coloured in the traditional green, red and a touch of gold I think she gives the right sense of the season.

- coloured with copics
- Sentiment – Whimsy Digital Stamp
- Paper – Echo Park (For the Record)
- Leaf Die – Magnolia Doohickey
- Buttons – PTI

Bye for now,
“I’ve been around the world
A couple of times or maybe more
I’ve seen the sights, I’ve had delights
On every foreign shore
But when my mates all ask me
The place that I adore
I tell them right away
Give me a home among the gum trees
With lots of plum trees
A sheep or two, a k-kangaroo
A clothesline out the back
Verandah out the front
And an old rocking chair”
Everytime I look at our “plum tree” this song pops into my head. Yes we do have gum trees at home but it is the PLUM tree I want to show you today.
The amount of fruit on the tree this year is just incredible (there were lots more before the littlies visited – dgs discovered that he liked plums – he pronounced it “plooms” – very British of him – to eat and/or throw ). I think it must have been the extrodinary amount of rain we had early in the season which produced so much fruit, but the only trouble is that we aren’t having the sun and heat they need now to ripen properly.
Here is one of the branches close up –
What am I going to do with them all? 😮 Jam is the only thing I can think of but you can only have so much plum jam.
Bye for now,
Good morning. Back today with another challenge card. This is for All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge #7… Let’s Celebrate Birthdays. I have been wanting to try out the technique which I have been seeing in quite a few blogs. The focal image is cut out with a shaped die and then placed inside a different die shaped cutout (is that as clear as mud ❓ ) Here is the “stand up” card which should show you what I mean.
I have opened the card out further so you can see that it does actually say “Happy Birthday”

- Paper – My Mind’s Eye (Gertie)
- Dies – Spellbinders
- Heart Border die – Whiff of Joy

It is my first market for 2011 this Sunday (see “about” tab for more information). My aim this week is to have everything ready before very late Saturday night (by late Saturday read early hours of Sunday morning). Yes that is usually when I have everything organized. Let’s hope my aim eventuates. 🙂
Bye for now,
It is grey and foggy here so far today, so I thought a nice bright card was in order. Here is my entry into the Sketch Challenge at All that Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge. I have had the set of “Gingersnaps – Celebrate” stamps for a long time but haven’t used this particular stamp before (even had to cut her out from the square). I’m so sorry I had overlooked her before because she is a cutie patootie. Here is the easel card –
Here is a close up of the balloons which I shaped a little and applied dimensional magic (it didn’t show up well in the main photo).
- Stamp – Gingersnap (Celebrate set)
- Coloured with Copics
- Paper – My Mind’s Eye (Gertie)
- Flowers – Wild Orchid
- Flourish – Kaiser
- Dies – Spellbinders
- Dew Drops, Lace, Dimensional Magic
Bye for now,
Monday is the last day of summer 😦 Here we are at the beach in our caravan making the most of the lovely weather. This view is from our caravan door to the right –
And to the left
And again
That’s all for now,
Our visitors went home yesterday. It is so quiet here today. Children really brighten your life.
The card I have chosen to make today is inspired by my grand-daughter. Her 4th birthday is next Tuesday but she is definitely going on 14. The things she comes out with are amazing. She explained “re-cycling” to me – just one of her “words of wisdom” – there were others. She definitely will be a fashionista, already she is very adamant about what she wants to wear. And of course Grandma ALL girls like pink and purple. 😆
Sorry dgd that the card isn’t pink or purple but the challenge I’m entering this card in is Stamps R Us – “For the Girls” and I thought there might already be too much pink so I went for teal and yellow. The little rolled flowers on the card were inspired by Tracy who showed me some of her lovely scrapbooking pages. (Tracey if you are reading this YES I would love you to show me how to make them properly, mine are very loose, flat and unroll very easily). Have a look at Tracey’s beautiful work here. In real life the rolled flowers look even better. Of course the design on the paper also inspired the rolled flowers.
Now onto the card –
- Stamp – The Greeting Farm (Monday)
- Coloured with Copics and paper pieced
- Paper – My Minds Eye (Hattie)
- #4 – American Craft Thickers
- Rhinestones – Kaiser
- Ribbon – PTI
