There was something very FISHY about last weekend. 😉 Two fathers-in-law went to the Cod Classic as Mulwala.  http://www.codclassic.com.au/ Â

These might be “tiddler” cod but the fishermen were pretty pleased with themselves anyway.  Sorry to say nowhere near the size of the winning cod which netted (groan) the winner a boat, motor and trailer.   That was just one of the 7 boat prizes, and don’t forget the $$$ one million tagged Cod (which wasn’t won this year).  All the fish were “catch & release” .
Bye for now,

In my previous post I mentioned that my crafty friends met for the last time this year. Â Well these are 3 of the cards we made:

Sorry about the bad photos, just can’t seem to deal with them today.
We also made 3 other cards another of our dear friends showed us. Â She also showed us how to make a beautiful origami box – woozers!
Can’t wait for next year’s get-togethers now.  🙂
Bye for now,

My group of crafting friends met last Saturday for the final time this year. We will start our get-togethers again in February 2016.  I think we all might suffer withdrawals in the meantime. 😀
Because we are crafters it is always exciting to see what others make, buy and have in their stash.
The first photos show the sweetest little pine cones I have ever seen. These, plus other goodies were a gift to us from one of the lovely ladies in the group. Â Straight away I had to use a couple of them.

The next gift is so cute and dainty and was a hostess present.  Thanks once again to another ultra talented woman in the group.

…… and look what was inside – a beautiful had embroidered “mug rug”. Â Whose a lucky girl then?

And the wonderful talented woman who made the next gift travels from Melbourne each month to be with us. Â Now you can tell that it is a very special group can’t you.

This paper crafted Christmas Tree is not only pretty and clever but it holds 2 sweet stamps.  There was 1 tree for each in the group.  Special.!

Every one in the group brought a plate (with food on it 🙂 ) to share.  So with the addition of paper crafting we had a happy and creative day.
I would like to thank all the women in the group for another fascinating, educational and relaxing year of crafting and card making.
See you all again next year for another round of fun and friendship.

It’s getting to that time of the year when parents start thinking about little gifts for their children’s teachers.
My dd knows I have LOTS of craft tools so she bought the grand children to our home so they could decorate mugs. Â (I have ceramic pens).

How cute. Â Dgd has decorated herself as well. Â Â I’m not sure if the mugs will go straight to the “Pool Room” (from the “Castle”) but they had fun creating which is the main idea isn’t it.
Bye for now,

A couple of weeks ago some friends and I made a start on some Christmas cards and bits and pieces.
The first card was totally inspired by Kristina Werner HERE.
We used Distress Inks which gave a lovely sky effect and used some old Amuse stamps which I have had for many years.
One of the other women showed us how to make a beautiful little curved box which will be perfect for a sweet little gift. We were also shown by another friend a very cute Elf card. Â Both wonderful projects but unfortunately because they weren’t my projects I can’t show you photos.
Next we made these cute little Christmas Rockers. Â I have seen these all over Pinterest and was very keen to try them. Luckily I had some Hershey Nuggets for Halloween (they are not readily available in Australia all year round) so it was perfect timing to try this cute project.
I think I will make more of these and use them as place cards for our Christmas table. Â I will just add a name tag for their hands. Â They are very easy to make just using strips of Christmas paper, some stamped Christmas images and paper clips. The rocking action is VERY cute, just make sure you put the join of the paper to the side (not as I have done with my prototype Santa Rocker).
Thank you for dropping in today,
Bye for now,
One grandson had his 6th birthday today. Â Happy Birthday to you. Â He had a lot of fun on Sunday when his school friends and 1 cousin came around for a Halloween themed party. Â Great costumes kids. Â Grandson wore a Dracula outfit – so cute. So because of this I made his card to suit the theme and here it is –
A simple punch art card but I think it was effective.  Actually grandson wasn’t very impressed because I had missed the blood on the face – oh silly me. 🙂  As with most kids the present was much more interesting.
Smiles,
I’m thinking that some children might drop in on Halloween for some “trick or treats”. Â In case they do I have been putting together some goodies.
This will be our first Halloween back in town and I’m not sure how popular it is now.  Of course we had no “trick or treaters” out where we used to live “in the sticks”.  Twelve years ago when we lived in town Halloween was only heard about on TV shows from USA but now I believe that it is a little more popular.
I made some quick and easy “sour cream” packets from sheets of an old Graphics 45 paper pad. I filled them and crimped the ends with my paper crimper to seal them.
I popped all packets and other goodies into a basket and now I’m ready for any little “monsters” who might come knocking on Saturday night.
Bye for now,
I haven’t blogged for a very long time and as for making cards that is even longer. Â But recently I’ve been wanting to get crafty again but because of the utter chaos in my new craft room that has been an impossibility. Â With today’s card I already had the image coloured and matted and just needed to turn it into a card, so didn’t need much space to put it together.
The image is a stamp from ” All Dress Up Stamps” called Festival Lilly. I coloured it with Copics.
The card is in the mail now with a little gift. Â I hope the “birthday girl” enjoys it.
Bye for now,
We had a wonderful week just relaxing and cruising a week ago. Â Here are some photos –
It was a 7 day cruise to Noumea, Maree and Port Villa. Â Such a wonderful way to holiday.
Bye for now,
Today I’ll show you the cards for the next Kaisercraft Ballarat class. Â The new papers are so cute so of course the cards had to be cuties. Â See Facebook for class dates and times.
We will make envelopes to match the cards as well.
I’m off to get the supplies to make the kits now so just a very quick post today.
Just to let you know, I’m still suffering from “Renovation-itis” but I’m feeling a bit better this week because the demolition phase is over and everything is starting to be put back together. I’ll keep you up to date.
Bye for now,
Long time no see! Â You might be wondering why. Well we have just moved house and are now in the midst of renovations. This has left me with very little space and time in which to craft. Â I’m in “craft” withdrawal so I thought I’d show you some of the projects we were lucky enough to make at the recent Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo in Brissie.
Apologies for the woeful photos, but best I could do under the circumstances.
We took classes with Alyce Keegan, Rachael Grieg, Bec Beatie and Michelle Grant. Â All very different and inspiring. We were so very lucky to meet these talented friendly women.
I’ll be back to show you some photos from the Expo another day.
Bye for now,
Take a peep over at Buddly Crafts to see some projects using Powertex. I had great fun with a simple laser printed image and some MDF. What fun!
Interested? Pop over to the Buddly site now [click here] for supplies and instructions.
For my project over at Cuddly BUDDLY for March this is my make –

Bye for now,
Surprise! I’m back. After being such an infrequent blogger now I have 2 posts.
I was in need of a baby boy card for a dear little family and this is what I came up with.
Last year one of our COD women showed us how to make a “Sunburst Card” (thanks Julie C) and I have been waiting for an opportunity to make another. It is not quite the same layout but the idea is the same.
It is quite bright and not everyone’s cup of tea but I quite liked it.
I’ll be back soon with another project.
Bye for now,
I know I haven’t been blogging lately and I’m sorry about that, but I have been doing some interesting things all the same.
Three weeks ago our ds and family came down to Victoria for a visit. The boys went to the Grand Prix and the girls went to Imax and lunch at Lygon Street so we were all happy.
Almost 2 weeks ago I was scanning through my emails and came across some very interesting information. The Brisbane Stitches & Craft Show was having demonstrations of a craft product which I am really keen to find out more about – “Powertex”. It is a fabric hardener and I have seen some beautiful projects made with it. On the spur of the moment I decided I would go. Before I could change my mind I booked my flight and exhibition tickets for 2 days time. I’m really pleased I went and it was kind of exciting for me to do something so spontaneous, not like me at all. See Ashley’s blog by clicking on one of her photos below –
Also at the exhibition was a stand dedicated to the ANZAC poppies. By the end of the day the display was much fuller.
Last Friday my dh and I went to the Melbourne Garden Show. The day started off very drizzly and we were a bit worried that the weather might spoil our day. As it turned out the weather was perfect for doing a lot of walking, which we did. It was overcast but didn’t rain, so mild and pleasant.
My dh husband loves lucadendrons and proteas so he was pretty impressed with this display.
Loved this display garden with the metal screening and tiger.
What a great idea to use recycled wooden pallets.
No need for words – just beautiful.
Cyclamens, Nerines and others small plants made a beautiful display.
Just had to take a photo of this door mat. Of course it is advertising Jack Daniels, but it is perfect for my dear little Grandson 🙂
Well it was a long post but you are almost up-to-date with what has been happening here. More soon.
