Bye for now,

High Hopes

Hello again – I can’t stay away from my card desk, (today’s excuse is that it is too hot to be outside) so here is another card.  The theme over at High Hopes Stamps is Glitter/Spark.  It is challenge # 101.  Well this little sheep mightn’t have a golden fleece but it is yellow and very sparkly(hope you can see it in the photo).  Have I overdone it with sparkles do you think?  I think it is cute, how could you resist it?

  • Stamps – High Hopes (it’s an oldie but goodie)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Paper – October Afternoon
  • Kindy Glitz
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Grass Die – Whiff of Joy
  • Flowers – Wild Orchid
  • Rhinestones – Kaiser
  • Butterfly punch

See you tomorrow,

Animals

I know I said I was going to have a couple of days off – well starting now 😀

I made this “easel” card before looking at any of the challenge sites “just because” I noticed the stamp which I hadn’t used for ages and knew what I wanted to make.  After I had finished I searched for animal challenges and guess what? I found 2 – Simon Says Stamp “Animal Antics” and Stamps R Us “Animals Challenge #13“.  I think I will try to enter both – after reading the rules I think that is okay.

  • Stamp – Penny Black (Hedgehog Stroll)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – PTI
  • Paper – Delish (High Tea)
  • Flowers – 2 x Wild Orchid – the rest I made from a tutorial here ←  thank you
  • Leaf punch – L-em.com
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Liquid pearls, ribbon

Bye for now,

Snow ???

I guess, if you live where I live, snow is the last thing on your mind.  Perhaps that is why I found today’s card challenge a bit challenging 😕  All that Scraps challenge is SNOW.  No more chatting I want to go outside and water the plants.

Say good morning to these cute little friends (who aren’t bright enough to come inside out of the snow) 😉

  • Stamp images – CC Designs Sugarplums Winter Emma and Winter Trevor
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – computer
  • Paper – Cosmo Cricket (Jolly by Golly)
  • Snow Flake Punches – Martha Stewart & Carl
  • Ribbon, XO, Kindy Glitz (silver) , Button

I’m thinking that I might take a couple of days off  to complete the cards I have made so far this year.  None have the inside panels made yet, so I should get on to that (it is the part I least like doing).

See you in a couple of days time,

Whiff of Joy

Another beautiful day here – clear blue skies and a light breeze.  A lovely day and a lovely colour combination for the Whiff of Joy Challenge #96 – Chocolate, Teal & Cream – yum.  To enter you must use a Whiff of Joy stamp.  Well that isn’t a problem because I’ve this gorgeous stamp just waiting to be used.  I think she could be used with lots of sentiments – love you, missing you, dream, angel, thinking of you, etc. but I chose not to use a sentiment so the card could be used for any occasion.   I used a “spring card” – the first time I have tried one – very happy with the style of it.  Say hello to “Musing Melinda”.

  • Stamp – Whiff of Joy (Musing Melinda)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Paper – K & Company (Designer Mat Pad)
  • Flowers – Wild Orchid
  • Leaf punch – L-em.com
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Ribbon & Heart

Bye for now,

Thank you card competition

The competition I am entering today is very special.  Jak Heath has inspired many in the crafting industry to donate towards “Help for Katie Benefit” – see Jak’s site for all the details.  Here is the link to the post regarding “Help for Katie”.    It is wonderful to see this kind of camaraderie.

The stamp I chose to use is by “Just Inklined” – Magnolia (love magnolias – they almost have personalities – a bit aloof, like to do their own thing, not what all the other trees do, and they KNOW they are very pretty).  I printed 2 images and cut out 1 petal from each bud and the centre petals from the flower.  I moulded them a little and used some foam tape to raise the middles.   I also highlighted them with light pink H2O, which unfortunately doesn’t show up at all well in the photo.  To the centre of the flower I added tiny burgundy pearls.

So here is my card using one of the digital images from the Help for Katie set.

  • Stamp image – Just Inklined (Magnolia)
  • Coloured with Copics and highlighted with Sparkling H2O
  • Sentiment – PTI
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Pearls – Kaiser

Bye for now,

Lili of the Valley challenge #81

Talking about Lilly of the Valley – does anyone have any hints on how to grow these beautiful little plants.  I have lost any plants I have ever tried to grow – I love them but just can’t get them to survive.  Now back to the challenge.  This week the challenge at “Lili of the Valley” is a “Sketch” by Dawny P .

I wanted to go soft and pretty today.  The stamp and papers I chose really dictated that the card be delicate anyway.  Here is my entry –

  • Stamp – Lilli of the Valley
  • (Coloured with Derwent watercolour pencils)
  • Paper –  Bella (Ever After)
  • Sentiment & Butterfly – Bella Petites
  • Flowers – Wild Orchid
  • Leaf punch – L-Em.com
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Pearls & Lace – unknown
  • Kindy Glitz

Bye for now,

Australia Day – Hooray

I hope you are enjoying Australia Day (day off  for some).  What are you going to do today – have a bbq?

Here is a sneaky peak at my ATC’s for January “Summer”.  Far too much cutting out – I’ll never chose this style again.  I took a couple of spoonfuls of sand from the Grandchildren’s sandpit (I’m sure they won’t miss it).

I’ve just realised that I only have 8 ATC’s in the photo, what did I do with the other one?  I better go find it.

Just a quick post today, so see you tomorrow,

Bugaboo – Winter White challenge

I’m back posting today after a lovely day with my dd, ddil and 2 grandsons.  We went to Ikea to pick up an item which had been out of stock (and a couple of other things 🙂 ).

Today’s challenge at Bugaboo is “Winter White” challenge.  “Show us what you can do with a primarily white card”.  So here is my entry –

  • Stamp image & Sentiment – Bugaboo (on the inside)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – PTI
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Texture Plate – Fiskars (difficult to see in the photo)
  • Buttons – PTI
  • Safety Pin, & Ribbon – unknown

See you tomorrow,

just the cat’s meow

I’ve had a lot of fun making this card, but now I’ve got a lot of goodies to put away.  There’s lace, ribbon, diamantes, feathers, pearls and paper all over the bench.  I wanted her to look “fabi” (or in 20’s speak “just the cat’s meow”) but kept going a bit overboard so ended up just giving her a long string of pearls to wear, some lace and flowers.

This card is for  Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #3

and this is the sketch to use.

I’m tickled pink with her.  I bet she thinks she is very “jazzy” and ready to dance the “Charleston”.  Here is a link on YouTube showing how the young women in the 20’s had fun – love it.

  • Stamp – Tickled Pink (20’s Evie)
  • Sentiment – PTI
  • Papers – Graphic 45 (Fashionista)
  • Diecut – Spellbinders
  • Flowers – Wild Orchid
  • Leaf Punch –  l-em.com
  • Lace & Pearls – Unknown

So “boop boopy do” to you and see you tomorrow,

Colour challenge

What a beautiful day we’ve had here and I think that today’s card suits the weather.  In fact if there hadn’t been a breeze I would have taken the card photo on the little swing we have here for our grand children.

The challenge I am entering is the Papercraft Star – challenge 29 (colour and recipe challenge).   “Use some or all of the colors below to create your project and include at least two of the following elements:

  • Ribbon
  • Stamped Image
  • Embossing
  • Die Cut”

I have used ribbon, a stamped image and embossing and used everyone of the colours (or very close to the colours).

The swing actually “swings”.  I have used an eyelet and flower brad so the swing can actually move.

  • Stamp – Pink Cat Studio (Enchanted Lily)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – Verve
  • Card – Bazzil
  • Embossing folders – Cuttlebug (Seeing Spots), Craft Concepts (In Bloom)
  • Edge Punch – EK
  • Kindy Glitz
  • Tissue paper flower (I made it from recycled packaging tissue and a diamante brad)
  • Butterfly punch (unnamed)
  • Ribbon (unknown)
  • Kaiser pearls.

See you tomorrow,

Bugaboo birthday challenge

Bugaboo Stamps are celebrating their 1st birthday so it is appropriate that the theme for this challenge is BIRTHDAY.  You have seen me use Gus from Bugaboo before but this image is new to me.  I thought I would try to make a little boy card – I never know what to do, but I think this image might do the job.  Once again I have left my entry into a challenge until the last moment (well almost last moment).  So without any further ado –

  • Stamp image – Bugaboo (Clown Numbers)
  • Coloured and air brushed with Copics
  • Sentiment – Verve
  • Paper – Basic Grey (max and whiskers)
  • Dies – Spellbinders
  • Button – PTI
  • Ribbons – unknown

See you tomorrow

Anyone for tennis?

My dh and I had a great day at the Australian Open yesterday.  Perfect weather, very good seats.  We saw –

Kim Clijsters (she won easily) Kim had a terrific interview with Todd Woodbridge where she told him that she had heard about the text he sent to Renee Stubbs saying “is Kim pregnant, she seems grumpy and her boobs seem bigger”.  But she didn’t answer whether she was pregnant or not!?!?!

Rafael Nadal (he won easily but the young man from USA, Ryan Sweeting, could be a rising star).

Unfortunately for the Aussie fans Nadia Petrova (different dress – lots of frills) easily defeated Alicia Molik.

Sorry about the photos, we were 12 rows back, and even though they were good seats you are still quite a distance from the court.

Here are some other photos

Some of the Aussie fans showing their support (could have done without the lycra 🙂 ).

We would have liked to see Jo-Wilfred Tsonga play but couldn’t get into Court 1 – he was very popular.

Bye for now,

Barbushka !

Today’s card was inspired by a card in the latest Stamping and Papercraft book I received yesterday.  It was pink and green and had a row of little insects vertically.   Doesn’t sound much like mine does it, but it got me started.

I cut out the sweet little faces and coloured them so now all I can say when I look at the card is “Happy Birthday Doll Face” (who said that? – what movie? – please someone tell me).

  • Paper – Basic Grey (Olivia)
  • Stamps – Hero Arts
  • Faces coloured with Copics
  • Punch – Martha Stewart
  • Rhinestones – Kaiser

See you tomorrow,

Tags again ..

I enjoy making them – no denying it.  Here are 3 more tags.  I had a lovely and most unexpected comment from Jacqueline (see yesterday’s post) last night – I was very excited.  All comments are very much appreciated, so if you feel you would like to add something to the blog please don’t be shy, but be nice – lol  😉
