cards and other happy thoughts

Final little gifts

I have finished the “little gifts” for the winning comments from a previous post.  I’m off to post them now.  So without further ado here they are:

Yes they are the same little pocket cards as the previous gift.  I just used different papers and embellies.  Of course there are different goodies in each of the pockets (hopefully to suit the winners).

Bye for now,

Little Gifts 2

Monday again.  I really enjoyed the weekend at home.  We don’t seem to have been home on Saturday and Sunday for months.  Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

Now on to today’s project.  A second little gift for the winners who commented on a previous post.  I love the colours in this card.  Unfortunately the night lights didn’t bring out the best in the photo.  This card has a pocket inside to pop in some little gifts.  I’m really pleased with the result (just not the photos – sorry).

I used some of the pretty Echo Park (Summer Days) papers and I think this stamp set is so appropriate for the winners of the competition.  I love it – Your Next Stamp (A Good Friend).  There are 2 sentiments and six bags which come with the stamp set.  Funny hey?!!

Bye for now,

Little gifts

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I certainly am.

I am in the process of making some little gifts for the prizes for commenting on my blog.  Here is the first one.  It is a notebook which I thought might go beside your computer to take note of sites you like or pass words etc.  I took inspiration from a mass manufactured booklet I bought in NT at the Mindel Market.  The paper I used is from Graphic 45 “Halloween in Wonderland”.  The butterfly and text behind it are digi images from Hero Arts.  I coloured the butterfly with Copics.

See you tomorrow with another little gift,

ATC’s second instalment

They are finally finished – phew……  Adding all the little rhinestones was very time-consuming, but all finished now.  Here is a peek at my second group of ATC’s for May.  The theme was autumn.  I am really struggling with lack of inspiration at the moment.  Let’s hope it is only short-lived.

The stamp is a Hero Arts tree from a set of 4.  The orange and tan circle is done with chalks.

Bye for now,

Winners are Grinners :)

I have caught up on my sleep now and I’m trying to get back into the swing of things.  First things first…… WINNERS of the comments from the post “How does she know me so well?” on the 25 May.  Well guess what – no one came up with the only 3 points that I’m not guilty of.  They are:    1, 5, 10.     I have a craft room which has every corner filled with crafty goodness, but I do keep it to that room.  I don’t use the kitchen table – no need – I have plenty of bench space in the office (not that you can always see it).  I don’t keep lint etc.  Sometimes I will keep a box or bag so I can use them as a template, but that is about all.  Oh and I do save and recycle good solid paper and plastic bags to use at the market.

So because there were no completely correct guesses and only 4 comments I have decided to give every commenter a surprise gift.  (I hope that will encourage others to comment next time 😀 ) I will catch up with all of you soon.

I’ll be back tomorrow with my 2nd group of ATC’s (Autumn) hopefully,

Home again home again jiggity jog…

Just a very quick post today because I am so tired and I just want sleep.  Here are a few quickly edited photos from our holiday.  Can you guess where we have been – sure you can.

and the final photo should confirm your guess – – –

Yes we have been to Darwin, NT (and Kakadu and Litchfield National Park).  We had the BEST holiday.  I recommend it to you (particularly at this time – the weather was perfect).

Now I’m off  to catch up on about 20 hours of sleep 😀

Who’s chocolate is it?

I love this photo of my dm and dgs.  My mum is renowned for being a “chocoholic” (she is 88 years old so it hasn’t done her any harm has it!)  It looks like they are having a tug of war over the chocolate block.  Sorry dgs you have no hope, dggm will never give it up.

See you soon,

Yum Yum

Nearly time for this month’s ATCs to be handed in.  The theme for May was FRUIT.

Here is a sneak peek at mine:

Nice and bright hey!  They were coloured with Copics and the top 2 strawberries popped up on foam tape.  The sentiment was computer generated.

See you soon,

Conversation Hearts

Do you remember “conversation heart” lollies?  I think that is what they were called.  They didn’t taste particularly delicious but they were a lot of giggles for little girls.  I have had this stamp for a while and am really happy that I have been able to use it.  The card I have made with the hearts is for Copic  Oz Monthly Challenge – it is a colour challenge this month and here are the colours:

Here is my card.  To be honest it was a quick little card (I am going away for a few days and needed to get something finished today).

Card Recipe:

  • Stamp – Inkadinkadoo
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – PTI
  • Card – Bazzill
  • Dies – Magnolia

  • Flourish – Zva (partial)

I have scheduled one post while I am away.  See you in a few day’s time.

How does she know me so well?

This post will stay at the top of the page until Thursday 2 June

so scroll down to see any new posts.

When I walked into my dh’s work a few days ago one of the women called me over and told me she had something for me.  Exciting – I love pressies!  This is what she gave me –

How does she know me so well?  Actually she hasn’t seen my craft room or house – she must be psychic (or dh has been doing too much talking) 😉

I went through the list of 12 and found that I am guilty of ONLY 9.  I don’t think that is too bad 👿

I would love some comments from you.   Don’t be shy I love comments.  In fact I think I have the perfect card for the random person who comments.  So if you would like a chance to win the card (and a couple of other small crafty things) leave a comment below.  Last time I had a challenge no one entered 😥  I hope it is better this time.  I will let you know who wins on Thursday 2 May so have your comments in before then.

How many could you put a tick beside?

Have a guess which are the 3 I haven’t ticked?

Have fun,

Before I start let me apologize for the poor photos.  I should have been patient and waited until daylight to take them but – oh no – I had to do it straight away!

Bye for now,

Hi Girlfriend….

You might be wondering where I’ve been. Well I have been at my craft desk (or I think I have – you can hardly see a surface so I’m only guessing it is there) trying to finish off 2 sets of ATC’s, and just having no inspiration. I’m going on holidays next week and want them finished before I go otherwise when I get back they’ll be late. I also started a project for a challenge. Got half way through and realised that a 2-year-old would have made a better job. I was very disappointed because the box I had in mind was frog inspired (to hold Freddo Frogs) and would have been very cute if it had turned out as I imagined – but it didn’t. 😦

After all the frustration of this week I decided I would have some fun and play along with Whiff of Joy Challenge #104 – Aqua, Pink and Cream. The colours sounded pretty – so here is the card I came up with:

and here is a close-up of the bows and flowers:

Isn’t the stamp the cutest young woman stamp you’ve ever see?

Card Recipe:

  • Stamp – Whiff of Joy  (Willow with Coffee2Go)
  • Coloured with Copics
  • Sentiment – Whiff of Joy (City Girl Sayings)
  • Card – PTI
  • Paper – My Mind’s Eye (Hazel)
  • Corner Punch – EK Success
  • Flowers – Kaiser & Wild Orchid
  • Lace, Ribbon & Twine

I hope I’ll be back with more (fingers crossed).

A boy’s best friend is his dog

Good morning everyone.  Today I have a photo of our dear old dog.  You can see from her white whiskers that she is “getting on” in dog years.  She has the loveliest nature (probably the labrador coming out in her – apparently she is a labrador/border collie x).  We got her from the pound nearly 10 years ago.   Here she is:

Now onto today’s dog related card.

I am entering this card into By LORi Designs Challenge BLDC 17 Theme – “Friendship”.  I have combined 2 digi images – “Puddle Jumper – Wagon Tales Henry” (who has an empty wagon) and “DOG”.
