Howdy pardner. Today I have a card for “The Cat’s Pajamas” TCP Tuesday 139 challenge.
Click the challenge sketch for more information.
I have rotated the sketch for my card.
- The stamps are from The Cat’s Pajamas “It’s a Western Thing” set.
- The paper, which I think is just perfect for this theme, is “Wanted” by Cosmo Cricket.
Bye y’all 🙂
No card today. I am having a bit of a break – well sort of – at the moment I’m working on this month’s ATC’s. Instead of a card I will show you our garden.
First of all here is a vase of proteas and leucadendrons in the kitchen.
and here are the shrubs the flowers came from.
They are great flowers for Christmas – just the right colours and they last for such a long time.
Next the white garden –
and the purple garden –
and finally for today the beautiful “Mother’s Love” rose.
That’s all for today. I should be back tomorrow with a card or project.
Bye for now,
A few days ago the School which holds the market I go to had these big cranes on site. It must be the time of year when the portable classrooms are designated for the following year. I’m wondering how many portables are being stored this time rather than trucked to another school which needs them. Under the “Stimulus Program” click here for more info 9495 schools were eligible for small-scale infrastructure and refurbishment so perhaps relocatables won’t be quite so necessary.
1. Getting ready to lift
2. Lifting
3. Partially on the truck
Bye for now,
Now that I don’t have to concentrate on markets you will notice that I will be entering more challenges. It’s great fun. This challenge is for Simon Says Stamp Challenge ← click there to go to the site. My entry is a trio of little parcels with bells and whistles ribbons. The “Tilda” tag is coloured with copics. The paper for the parcels is The Green Stack from DCWV (an older pad which I really like).
and a closeup of the tag – she is such a pretty stamp.
Bye for now,
TGIF – You know I think it should be CYBIF (can you believe it’s Friday – already). Two weeks until Christmas!!!!! I made some mini plum puddings last night thanks to a df who gave me a recipe with NO eggs and loaned me mini puddings dishes to boil them in. Of course dh and I had to make sure they were okay – actually they are more than that, they are delish…… I have frozen them (minus 1) ready for Christmas.
While I should be addressing and posting our Christmas cards I’m making a card for The Cat’s Pajamas challenge. The challenge is to use any of TCP holiday stamps. Click here to go to The Cat’s Pajamas challenge. That’s fine because I do have some. 8) Here ’tis –
Bye for now,
Today’s card is a quick and easy Christmas card – sometimes these turn out just as well as those you have taken hours & hours over.
The stamp is a Hero Arts cling snowflake. It is heat embossed with gold on red card then attached to craft card. I spotted a card like this on the web last year, but do you think I can find it now – NO. 😦 Well anyway here it is:
Bye for now,
About a month ago a friend asked if I could make a Baptism card for a baby girl. I didn’t have any stamps that I could use (I know that is hard to believe), so I had to say no. I went web surfing looking for a baby stamp for a baptism. Oh wow, how hadn’t I found this site before – Lili of the Valley stamps. I purchased the stamps (#cough # and a couple of others – well they were so cute) and waited for them to arrive from UK. They arrived last Friday, the last market day for 2010. Would you believe that I had 2 requests for Baptism Cards that evening, how “spooky” is that?
Well here is a card I have made with the stamp for a challenge at Lili of the Valley. You can’t see the glitter or shine – sorry.
See you tomorrow,
Good morning. Welcome to another new week – aren’t they just flying. All the markets are over until March 2011 and I’m pleased about that. I have been putting far too much time into getting ready for the markets and not enjoying the crafty side of card making.
The Sarah Kay stamp on this card is from the Imagination Factory and I will take the card into the shop tomorrow for display. I chose this stamp because it isn’t the style I would usually choose so that it would make me try something new. Instead of copics I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I have seen some lovely results using a water brush (for example go to Simcards site, isn’t her work just beautiful). I am very disappointed in my result, I will have to do a LOT of practice and experimenting with papers and brushes before I even come close.
Bye for now,
Here are a couple more chocolate covers ready for the market tonight.
Both have stamps from Scrapmagasinet – although I couldn’t find either on their website. They might be retired because I have had them for a few years, or it could be that I can’t find them because the site is mainly in Norwegian and I haven’t understood the instructions.
The sentiments on the covers are from Hero Arts and the tags are freebies I found on the web.
With this first cover santa is stuck in the chimney – perhaps he shouldn’t eat as many biscuits and milk this year.
I thought the next cover was appropriate for an Australian Christmas because a snowman would definitely melt down here and I thought warm wishes was appropriate.
I won’t see you tomorrow, but I’ll be back on Sunday I think.
Because I am still busily working on Christmasey things for the market on Thursday I have had to delve into my stash to show you some cards.
The stamp (Cheeky Nurse) I used on the 2 cards today is from The Greeting Farm. The first one is a thank you perhaps for a hospital visit or district nurse. I thought the little saying was cute. I printed the saying on some ledger paper trying to make it look like a “clip board”.
The second card is for someone special. I didn’t know what sentiment to put on this dear little heart card and then realised I was singing the song “Boom bang-a-bang” by Lulu. If you remember this song you are probably older than 21. 😉
See you tomorrow,
First day of December – don’t forget the “pinch & punch”.
Well it seems clear that the drought is over (well at least for the moment). Can you believe this weather? One day you dress for summer and the next for winter.
They tell us that El Nino brought higher average temperatures and drought conditions. It sure seems that he has disappeared (just when we had become accustomed to him).
Apparently now we are faced with the opposite in the form of La Nina which is predicted to bring cooler temperatures and more rain fall – so far they sure have that right. So I guess that means we should expect less beautiful summer days and more overcast, muggy ones. This sounds more like the summers at the beach we used to have 20 or so years ago.
With the changeable weather and heavy rain we have been having I decided to check out the forecast for December. I got this chart from eldersweather.com.au (click to go to their website).
Still plenty of rain around but at this stage it is looking good for Christmas day.
Bye for now,
The theme for this month’s “Imagination Factory” ATC s – TRANSPORT.
Here are my 9 cards –
I stamped onto glossy card with distress ink, trying to make it look like an old photo.
Bye for now,
I haven’t “blogged” much this week. One of the reasons was that we had a long weekend at Mulwala NSW to see the Power Boat Races (or at least the men went to see the races). The women window shopped, shopped, and shopped at the Farmers’ Market at Yarrawonga on Sunday. It was a great little market. Here are some race photos which my husband took. I know most of my readers won’t think this is appropriate for a card blog – but you never know – and it is part of my “life” categories.
There were displays of old wooden speed boats –
Here is one of the “big” boats being put into the water by crane to get ready for a race.
Here is another big boy finishing the race .
Apparently there were dozens of engines changed during the 3 days.
A “drag” boat???
Mid race –
I’ll be back tomorrow with more “card” things.
Bye,
I have been busy with “markety” things, but have made time to enter this cute “surprise” Tilda in a competition or two.
I think she fits in with the Copic Oz “Christmas with a Twist” challenge. Click here to go to the challenge. For the twist she has a gift hidden behind her back so I attached her to 3 little parcels. The colours aren’t traditional Christmas either – apricot instead of red and light green replacing the pine green.
The other challenge I would like to enter her in is the ATS blog Magnolia challenge “Something Christmas” Click here to go to this challenge. This challenge has only one stipulation and that is to use a Tilda, Edwin, or Magnolia stamp or Doohickey in a Christmas theme.
This photo is taken very late at night – but here goes:
- Stamp – Magnolia
- Paper – MME Lost and Found
- Flower – Prima
- Copics – R00 R01 R02 E21 E50 E51 E93 E95 E97 G20 G21 G24
- Silk Ribbon
- Sentiments and parcel templates PTI.
Bye for now,
I am busy getting ready for the Christmas Twilight Markets. The first one is at Caledonia Primary School this Friday 5 – 9 pm and the next is at Pleasant Street Primary School Friday 3 November 5 – 9 pm. Today I am making little note books. I have used Webster Papers (I love them) on this group. I will also make some “teacher” and “Christmas” types as well. Okay – better get back to it.
Bye for now,
