We’re back from visiting one of our ds’s and his family. This was our “early” Christmas get-together because we can’t catch up on the 25th December. Can you guess where we have been? Here are some photos for clues –

I’m sure that you have guessed by now “The Sunshine Coast” – Maroochydore to be exact.
We had a wonderful long week-end and recommend a holiday here to everyone.
Bye for now,
We (when I say we I mean DH with me just admiring) have planted hundreds of trees and shrubs on our small farm. We were talking last night about the number and variety of birds we have around this spring. It’s just lovely. We have lots of different parrots, wrens, finches, etc. Unfortunately we have lots of rabbits because they like the cover as well and they love to eat the young plants.
I thought I would show you a few of the plants which are in flower at the moment.
Hope you enjoyed these photos.
Bye for now,
Whew! 4th and final “Princess” card finished. This one is more of a fairy but she does have a crown so I think she qualifies as a princess. The stamp is from Inky Antics. The paper is from Authentique “Uncommon”. I have totally CASED a thank you card I received a while back. I did warn the lovely woman who gave it to me that I really liked the design and that she might see it on one of my cards 😀 I have changed the shape, papers and stamp so it is quite different now.
Here ‘ tis –
Well I only have to finish the centres now. So off I go to do that and then I can get them to the woman who has ordered them. I hope 2 of them will suit the little girls she has in mind.
Bye for now,
Princess card #3 and she is a sweetie. She is “Arabella” from C.C. Designs. I’m loving the paper, it is from My Mind’s Eye “Honey Cake”.
Here ’tis –
a different view showing the layers –
Hope you are enjoying the Princesses (too many s’s). One more princess tomorrow and then I have some photos of flowers from our garden for you.
Bye for now,
I’m finally back with a card to show you. I know, I know, I have been a very bad blogger, but over the next couple of days I have 2 more princess cards to show you. I have an order for 2 but I like to make a few extra so there is choice. You saw the first a few days ago here is the second (it is the same, or similar, to a previous card but with a different sentiment and papers). I love “Lillianne” from C.C. Designs. The papers are pretty too they are from Kaisercraft “bonjour”.
See you back here tomorrow,
A reminder for those who live in or near Ballarat – The Caledonian Primary School is holding a Twilight Market this evening (Friday 11/11/2011 – yes 11/11/11) from 5 – 9 pm.
The 11/11 more importantly is Remembrance Day. This day marks the anniversary of the armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year Australians observe one minute silence at 11 am on 11 November, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. Have you bought your poppy yet?
On a lighter note, I thought I would show you a couple of “stocking stuffers” I have been working on for the market –
and here is the inside
Okay – back to work for me – what will I make next?
Bye for now,
Welcome back everyone. Woo hoo I have a card to show you.
A cheeky monkey (and she knows who she is 😉 ) added a fun comment yesterday telling me to get back to work and post a card or 2 or 3 😆 – so of course I have. See I do take notice of your comments.
Here is today’s card. I think I will add it to the La-La Land Gallery.
The stamp is “Princess Marci” (what a cutie). The papers are from Basic Grey (Kioshi) and PTI (Guide Lines). The sentiment is an “Inky Antics” stamp.
This is the first of the princess cards I have been asked to make for 2 sisters.
Hope you enjoyed this card. Hopefully I’ll be back soon with the second princess card.
Bye for now,
I’m back……. Yes I am well rested but not quite ready to blog regularly again. This week I am going to be busy getting ready for a Twilight Christmas Market on Friday. I haven’t any cards to show you but here a few photos of our holiday.
Aaaahhh…. it was a great holiday – just what we needed.
I have just realised that I have a couple of “princess cards” which have been ordered for quite a few weeks so hopefully I will make them this week sometime. If I do get them made I’ll give you a quick post.
Aloha and mahalo (Bye and thank you – thank you for bearing with me while I’m a poor blogger).
So that you will keep me in mind while I am away I have scheduled another post.
Behind the scenes I have been quietly working away at market goodies. Here are some of the little tags I have added to little stocking stuffer type gifts which I have been putting together.
I only have these 5 completed but I have another 10 or so on the way. I have used these images before ‘cos I think they are cuties.
Hopefully by now on my holiday I am nice and relaxed and ready to get back into card making when I get home. Not long now.
You’ll hear from me “live” soon,
This is not the type of card I would usually make 😉 but a friend needed a card for a Collingwood (AFL Football team) supporter. Their colours are black and white vertical stripes. I made 2 cards for her to choose from but forgot to take a photo before I gave them to her. She chose the funny one, so can’t show you that but I have taken a photo of the other and have scheduled it to show you while I am away.
Here is the card –
Do you like the colours? 😀
Bye for now,
I thought I would just quickly let you know that our family get-together was a success but the fishing side of it was very disappointing for “serious” fishermen/women. Only 2 fish caught – I think they may have been a redfin and a carp. Apart from fishing the rest of us had a good time chatting, laughing, playing games and just catching up. We even had a talk on, and display of herbs.
Here is a photo of some of the children (I have made sure no faces are showing as I haven’t had time to ask permission from parents). It’s obvious that one is having fun with the boats and the other littlies were racing cars down the ramp.
The first day was showery but Sunday was perfect weather. That is all I have time for – better go.
Bye for now,
Welcome back. Today I have 2 tags to show you. I am entering them in the Penny Black challenge “Stamped Gift Tag”.
Here are 2 gift tags I have made –
The first tag I swiped with distress inks, added some glitter and rhinestones for the holly berries.
The second tag I have sprayed with Glimmer Mist (unfortunately it came out spurts and made it blotchy).
You can see here that I have stamped two extra sets of baubles on patterned paper and then folded the two smaller ones in half and glued them together. Can you see that in photo below? I have sewn some gold cotton to make the cords for the baubles.
Well they are not my best effort I’m afraid. I think I rushed too much. We go on holidays next week and I haven’t even started to pack – I’ll get organized tonight, then I’ll be more relaxed. :80:
Bye for now,
My dsil and dbil celebrated their 40th Anniversary over the weekend. This is the card I gave them. I suppose it is a bit cheeky but I think my dbil would enjoy it much more than an over-the-top hearts and flowers card – just not him. So I hope they found it funny.
I wanted to use purple/lilac in the card because they had that colour as their bridesmaid dresses 40 years ago. 40 years – a pretty good effort – with 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren to enjoy. 4 seems to be their number!?!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Bye for now,
Mo’s challenge this week is to make a card or paper project that’s been “Inspired by a Song”.
The digital image “Diva” came straight to mind for this challenge and the song “You don’t own me”. I probably first heard it sung by Dusty Springfield (way back when) but the “First Wives Club” revived it.
This chorus in particular fits the image to a “T” –
“I’m young and I love to be young, I’m free and I love to be free, To live my life the way I want, to say and do whatever I please”. This suits her attitude so well don’t you think?
So here is today’s card –
Card Recipe –
- Digital Image – Mo’s (Diva)
- Coloured with Copics
- Sentiment – Hero Arts (Sew Stylish)
- Card – PTI (Lavender Moon & Plum Pudding)
- Paper – PTI (Guide Lines)
- Dies – Spellbinders
- Flowers – Wild Orchid
- Ribbon, stick pins & Glitter from my stash
I know that I did say that I would have an Anniversary card for you today – sorry I’ll show you that card tomorrow.
Bye for now,
