Here is the card I promised yesterday. It has taken a while to put it together – it may not look like it would take long to make but getting the dimensions right, etc, etc, then paper piecing and copic colouring all took far too long. When I make another it should be much easier.
I’m sorry that it is difficult to read the sentiment. “May you be richly blessed this Christmas and always”. I printed Joseph’s robe the wrong way on the paper, vertical stripes would be much more slimming don’t you think . 😉 It is an easel card so here is another photo to show how it stands.
Bye for now,
This is the second post today.
The recipe for the Papercraft Star Challenge 22 is:
Make a Holiday Card or Tag that features a Christmas Tree or Ornament
- Use the cricut or other die cut on your project
- Use ribbon
- Use handmade embellishment
- Use bling
- (use anything additional you require)
I have ticked all the recipe requirements. I think the colour combination has worked quite well.
- The paper is from Crate Paper (Snow Day Collection)
- Digital Christmas Tree (Hero Arts)
- Sentiment (Verve)
- Bling & lace (Kaiser)
- Handmade snowflake (Martha Stewart punch)
- Ribbon (PTI)
For some strange reason I can’t link to the challenge site so here is the site URL http://papercraftstar.blogspot.com
See you tomorrow,
I’m working on cards at the moment which are taking quite a bit of my time, but I think will be worth it. So in the mean time here are a couple of cards which have been on display at The Imagination Factory and now have been returned to me so there will be room for new display cards ……..
I like this card, simple and cute. The image is from a Crafty Secrets Journal Notes pad. The flower is made from Heartfelt Creations dies and the sentiment is PTI.
Looking at this card now I wish I had added “little” before the sentiment. The stamp is a (quickly run to the draw to look) Kaisercraft. Sentiment PTI. The rocking horse rocks of course. See….
I’ll be back tomorrow with a Christmas themed card.
How many days until Christmas? 38? I have purchased most of my Christmas gifts now, just the difficult ones left to think about. How are you going with your shopping?
Here is another of the cards my friend and I made yesterday –
As children we always looked forward to the plum pudding on Christmas Day, not because we particularly liked the pudding itself but because of the money you could find inside. We were always happy with our threepence until dad would find something of much more value inside his slice (sometimes it was even paper money). This happened every year – how long can a joke last?
With this in mind I thought the little card should be a gift money holder. Here is the inside of the plum pud –
Bye for now,
Well I had a lovely afternoon catching up with a friend who I used to work with. Not only was it good to catch up but we made a couple of cards as well. 😀 Here is a photo of one we made –
The stamp was given to me as a present from my sister. It is a Penny Black stamp.
See you tomorrow with another card we made.
I am so thrilled – I have won an award from All That Scraps blog. * See side bar * I wasn’t the winner but I sure feel like a winner.
I must settle down now and get back to work.
My sister and I between us have probably made hundreds of shoe cards and boxes and I have to admit that I have been rather tired of making them. So I have been trying to find something that would reignite my love of them. I am a very keen blog reader and have noticed the trend to use materials and stamps from your stash rather than buying new products all the time. My DIL gave me a spa brochure a while back, which was made from the most beautiful paper (almost card actually). She thought I might be able to use it, and now I have. Here is my most recent shoe card – using the recycled paper.
It has been raining heavily all day today – just a perfect day for card making. Unfortunately not the perfect day for the local Agricultural Show. You know it is amazing how many times the show is spoilt by rain. It has been fine all week and for the first day the show, and then down came the rain. If we go back to drought I think we could break it just by putting on the show…….. 🙂 😀 😉
Bye for now,
Welcome to my blog on the 11th day of the 11th month. Did you remember the minute silence at 11 am? Most people know this day as Remembrance Day but to me it is my parents anniversary. Yes as my mother always says “one war ended and another started” . 😛
Here are some more Christmas cards
Sorry about the terrible photos. As the sun gets higher in the sky towards summer the shadows in my craft room are more difficult to cope with. I think you will get the idea anyhow.
Bye,
Our Iris’s are coming out and I just love them. As a child we used to call them Flags I think. They are very showy I know…… “show-off flowers”, but you can’t blame them because they really are beautiful (even if a little conceited) 😀
There are still quite a few to come out yet.
Hope you enjoyed these beauties.
See you tomorrow,
I had a nice day yesterday with my daughter and grandson catching up with SIL and her daughter and grandchildren. Here are a couple of photos for the family.
See you tomorrow,
Yes I do, but if you are thinking flowers you will be shocked because I am talking about stamps (fancy that!).
“All That Scraps” are running a challenge at the moment “Third Magnolia Challenge” . The theme is FALL and FOLD using a Magnolia Stamp. My card is a “stand up” fold and I have used BasicGrey paper “pyrus” which has lots of lovely autumnal colours. I used Fairy Dust Tilda stamp and a Doohickey leaf die (it’s the aqua leaf). The sentiment is from PTI “remember” set.
ATS have asked for a stamping tip – this works for me – I choose an item (paper, embellie, etc) and start from there. In today’s card I choose the paper (keeping in mind the challenge theme was fall). Once I had chosen the paper the stamp and extras all fell into place. With the Mermaid card I made a while back, it was spotting the lovely pearl brad – then the mermaid and shell card seemed inevitable.
See you tomorrow with some family photos (hopefully).
This week’s challenge at Papercraft Star is HERE.
Simon Says make a Card
Base 4.5 x 5.5,
Double Mat #1: cut at 3 3/8 x 4 5/8
with another color cut at 3 1/4 x 4 1/4
Double Mat #2: cut at 2 3/4 x 4
with another color cut at 2 3/4 x 2 1/2
Add ribbon, Add button(s), Add Punch or Die Cut (Add anything else you would like to add).
For my entry the card and ribbon are from PTI, paper from Cosmo Cricket “De Lovely” (isn’t it gorgeous), the chipboard flower is also from this set. The sentiment is from Verve “Happy Hello”. I think it is a very HAPPY card.
Well I should get going and post it on their website. I like to have a bit of time to spare because I get anxious about the time difference.
Can NOT get that song out of my head now.
Here is why I started singing it.
The sentiment (which unfortunately isn’t easy to read in the photo) is “Sisters are different flowers from the same garden” Don’t you love that. MMmmmmm reminds me of people I know (or used to be know) 😮
Here is a quick post with a couple of photos my DH took at the Melbourne Cup.
Americain, taken after the race – can’t tell if he is smiling – but he should be – he won AUS $3.6million.
Statue of the legendary Bart Cummins – he has trained 12 Melb Cup winners – “So You Think” could have been his 13th.
I think this is “So you think” before the big race. After the race he was sold for AUS $40million.
