Over time I’ve made lots of little boxes and love making them.  Recently I have purchased some gorgeous paper/card, which is quite heavy weight and I’m just holding off making something with it until I practice on cheaper easier to obtain card.  So here is my practice box.

The top is made with creme card and bottom with red.  I was looking for some design paper to add to the top and came across an old, very old, 8 x 8 inch paper pad by October Afternoon.  It is all in pieces but luckily the cover was still with it so I can tell you the name of the pad – “Holiday Style”.  You may be able to get it still but I would think you would have to be lucky.  One of the sheets is the one I used on the top and I only had to trim it a little.  Perfect, I love it.

I tried tying a lovely red ribbon around the box but it took so much away from the scene that I scrapped that idea and just went with a coordinating tag.

I have been researching (surfing the web) looking to see how people make sturdier boxes which would hold something a little more weightier.  After I got the idea I made this box and I’m very happy with it.  I had a couple of failures along the way (so glad I didn’t just go with the special paper/card first).

This was one of the failures, but instead of putting it in the bin I took a photo to show you how I cut and folded.  I don’t know whether it helps, if not give me a shout out and I will give you the measurements.

Thanks for popping in.  I really appreciate having you here.

Bye for now,
